          Overview
          In 1776, Barnabas Collins is cursed by a vengeful witch, Angelique Bouchard, for falling in love with the beautiful Josette du Pres.

          7. Angelique bewitches Josette into killing herself. Afterwards, Barnabas turns into a vampire and is captured and buried by an angry mob. Barnabas’s coffin is dug up by construction workers in 1972. He returns to his family home to find his descendants have hired a governess named Victoria Winters.

          Victoria is the reincarnation of his love, Josette.
